Follow My Mosque Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Follow My Mosque collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use our mobile application.

Follow My Mosque is designed to help users follow local mosques, view prayer times, receive mosque updates, access community posts, and use Islamic utility features such as prayer reminders, Qibla direction, tasbih counter, duas and community content.

By using Follow My Mosque, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Follow My Mosque only collects information needed to provide the app's features.

Information you may provide

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:

Your name, email address, role and message if you submit an “Invite your mosque” or representative request form.
Mosque details submitted through a mosque request form, such as mosque name, address, website, phone number, nominee name and nominee email.
Admin account information if you are authorised to manage a mosque or community channel.
Content entered by authorised admins, such as notices, events, volunteer posts, fundraising links, surveys, Janazah announcements and prayer timetable information.

Information collected automatically

The app may collect or store:

Device installation identifier used to manage notifications.
Push notification token used to send mosque updates or app notifications.
Followed mosque preferences.
Local app settings, such as hidden posts, selected mosque, reminder settings and display preferences.
Basic technical information needed to keep the app working securely and reliably.

Location information

Follow My Mosque may request access to your device location for features such as estimated prayer times or Qibla direction.

Location is used to calculate relevant Islamic utility information. We do not use location for advertising, tracking or selling user data.

Where possible, location-related features may use your device locally or fall back to a default location if permission is not granted.

2. How We Use Information

Show mosque profiles, prayer times, notices, events and community posts.
Allow users to follow mosques.
Send push notifications for mosque updates, important posts, Janazah announcements, events or prayer-related updates where enabled.

Allow authorised mosque admins to manage mosque content.

3. Notifications

4. Admin and Mosque Management Data

Authorised mosque admins may create and manage public content for their mosque, including:

Jumu'ah information.

Janazah announcements.
Volunteer requests.
Fundraising appeal links.
Surveys or polls.
Mosque profile information.

Content published by mosque admins may be visible to public app users.

Admin access is protected by authentication and role-based access controls. Admin users must only publish information they are authorised to share.

5. Community Channel Content

Follow My Mosque may include a community channel containing Qur'an verses, hadith, duas, reminders, reflections, app updates and educational content.

This content is managed by authorised platform administrators. Community posts may be shown to users who follow the community channel or access community areas of the app.

6. Survey and Poll Responses

The app may allow users to respond to simple mosque surveys or polls.

Survey responses may be collected in a privacy-conscious way and may be shown to mosque admins in summarised form. We aim to avoid collecting unnecessary personal information through surveys.

Users should not submit sensitive personal information into survey answers unless specifically requested by the mosque and appropriate.

7. Third-Party Services

Follow My Mosque may use trusted third-party services to operate the app, including:

Supabase for database, authentication, storage and backend services.
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.
Google Play services for Android app delivery and related platform services.
Resend or email delivery services for sending mosque representative request emails.
Device operating system services for permissions, notifications and location features.

These providers may process limited technical or personal data where necessary to provide the app's features.

We do not allow third-party advertising networks to track users through the app.

8. Data Sharing

We may share information only where necessary:

With backend and infrastructure providers that help run the app.
With mosque administrators where a user submits a relevant mosque request or interacts with mosque-controlled features.
With legal or regulatory authorities if required by law.
To protect the security, rights and safety of users, mosques, the developer or the public.

We take reasonable steps to protect user data, including:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
